Anne

Kevin and I started Kiddies Campus in 2003. Our son Taylor was the first child booked in to attend.

We had a vision to start a centre that would be a home away from home. We hand-picked a lovely team of teachers who would genuinely love and care for our children – and this has carried on for over 20 years. They have a passion to teach and inspire young minds.

The early days were exciting, building playgrounds and opening up parts of the old gentlemen’s residence. We added a kitchen and dining area and the large concrete pad. The baby’s playground was a later addition built solely by Kevin, and his trustee apprentice, during the weekends over a three-month period.

My background is as a paediatric nurse, and I later completed the Aperfield Montessori course. I have always loved children. Coming from the hospital to a centre full of well children was amazing.

We often have children from a few months old right up to school. We thoroughly love watching the children grow into confident, happy little people. It is hard to say goodbye when they head off to school. Some families have had three children at Kiddies Campus over the years, and some have returned as teachers (Olivia, Taylor and Sian)!

The bonds made with our teachers, children and their whānau over the years are huge. We like to think of ourselves as the third parent!

Mikala

Kia ora! My name is Mikala, and I have a Bachelor of Teaching endorsed in Early Childhood. Working with tamariki brings me joy as I witness their creativity, curiosity, and unique personalities develop every day. Building strong relationships and supporting our tamariki on their learning journey and helping to enhance their mana is one of the most fulfilling things I have ever experienced besides becoming a mum myself. My daughter has just turned three and absolutely loves spending her days at Kiddies Campus.

Olivia

Kia ora, my name is Olivia, and I have a Bachelor of Education degree. I have been working in early childhood education for the past three years, and I absolutely love it! I believe that building strong relationships is the most important aspect of nurturing young minds. I am passionate about creating a supportive and engaging environment in which children can grow.

Grace

Kia ora, my name is Grace. I have been an educator for 6 years and I love working with our children in the over two rooms. I enjoy being outdoors with them, exploring and discovering new things together. I'm also passionate about creating hands on learning experiences that encourage curiosity, creativity and confidence. Whether we are diving into art projects, experimenting with sensory activities or exploring nature, I enjoy guiding children as they develop skills, build friendships and find joy in learning.

Kathryn

Kia ora, my name is Kathryn, and I have been an early childhood teacher for 18 years. Working in ECE is my passion, particularly with the 0- to 3-year-olds. Forming relationships with the tamariki and their families and being part of their learning journey is such an honor. Kiddies Campus is like a home away from home and the children become part of our extended family. Both of my children came through Kiddies and the love, kindness and education they both received gave them a solid foundation for the next stage of their learning journey.

Lynne

Kia ora. My name is Lynne, and I have worked in Early Childhood Education for over 20 years, and I am always learning from our tamariki!

I love working with such a caring, nurturing team such as the Kiddies Campus team. One of the best parts of working at Kiddies Campus is getting to meet and build respectful reciprocal relationships with Children and their whanau from all different and diverse cultures. Watching new families walk through the doors with their child and having complete faith in knowing we will love, care and support not only their child but also their whanau. We watch their child grow into confident caring lifelong learners, building lasting friendships and developing a passion for learning.

Sarah

Kia ora, my name is Sarah, and I am the cook at Kiddies Campus. I was a teacher before coming into the cook position. I love all our tamariki and I spend any spare time I have away from the kitchen with them. I am very passionate about food and currently on my way to completing my Bachelor of Culinary Arts. I love to bake and cook nutritious food for all our little humans, create healthy relationships with food and usually sneak in extra vegetables.

Terri

My name is Terri, and I am a Kaiako (teacher) in the Kereru Room.

Having assisted as a relief teacher at Kiddies Campus since March 2024, I am deeply honoured to have transitioned into a permanent role within the team. I have loved moving around the centre and meeting all the fantastic tamariki (children), pepi (babies), and Kaiako and getting to know the wonderful whānau.

My daughter Skyla also attends Kiddies Campus and as a parent, I have a personal connection with this wonderful community.

The dynamic nature of working with children, where no two days are the same, is something I genuinely enjoy. It keeps me on my toes and makes my work exciting. Seeing the children happy and playing reinforces my belief that I have one of the most dynamic jobs in the world.

Getting to know the tamariki and their whānau is extremely rewarding, and as a parent myself, I can appreciate how meaningful the relationships between families and our staff are.

Bekah

Hi, my name is Bekah and I’m working in the under-two’s room here at Kiddies Campus. I’m a busy mum of three boisterous boys; my youngest, Baxter, is here at Kiddies Campus.

As a parent I have been on a continuous learning journey; growing and changing as my children's lives and needs change and I love being able to bring that understanding and patience into a teaching setting.

I enjoy being outdoors and out in nature. Being outside is a great way to reset and re-centre when there are big feelings or challenges happening.

I love working with children and helping nurture and shape future leaders.

I believe children thrive in a positive and supportive environment and love that I can be part of that here.

Messy play and water play is something I love helping to facilitate with the children. Learning through all the senses is always a great time.

Lucy

Hi, my name is Lucy, and I have recently joined Kiddies Campus. I am a former swim school instructor.

I enjoy working with children of all ages and watching them thrive and grow.

I also enjoy cooking and gardening and looking forward to spending happy times with children and whānau.
